Pope Leo XIV established that from January 10, 2026 to January 10, 2027 is a special Year of Saint Francis, coinciding with the 800th anniversary of his death.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, In this Jubilee Year dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi, the Church invites us to rediscover the beauty of a life marked by simplicity, humility, and joyful love. St. Francis’s life reminds us that holiness is not found in extraordinary achievements, but in openness to God’s will and generous love for others.
The faithful can receive a plenary indulgence during the Jubilee Year of St. Francis by visiting one of the three sacred locations designated by Archbishop Smith, provided they also meet the usual conditions established for receiving indulgences. Groups desiring to come in pilgrimage to any of the three parishes listed below are asked to contact the respective parish offices to coordinate the visit.
