Scalabrinians (CS)

As the Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Charles, we Scalabrinians are a Catholic community of priests and brothers founded on November 28, 1887 by Blessed Bishop John Baptist Scalabrini. We share in the Mission of the Church through our specific service to migrants and refugees. We labor on a “grass-roots” level with those who suffer the trauma of migration and on the level of government and scholarship to sensitize society to the needs of those displaced and uprooted.

We are present in 31 countries of the five continents. In Canada we serve migrants and refugees from Italy, Portugal, Azores, Mexico, Central and South America, Philippines and Korea, in Windsor, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

“We become migrants with the migrants, so as to build with them, even by the witness of our life and our community, the Church, which in its earthly pilgrimage associates itself particularly with the poorest and the most abandoned classes of people.” (Rules of Life, 2)
The Lord invites you to join us in a ministry which is urgent. In welcoming His migrant brothers and sisters, you will welcome Christ into your life as never before.
