Strengthen Marriages & Families

Our culture can make it hard to live a full, rich Christian family life. In the spirit of Pope Francis’ Amoris Laetitia, we will invest in strengthening marriages and families and help support our parishioners, parishes, and the wider culture.

We want to do this by providing practical and Christ-centered tools to our families. 

Provide Tools for Parents 

We will offer key programs for parents, grandparents, and educators seeking practical tools and strategies for strengthening relationships with their children, grandchildren, and students.

Through parishes, schools, and lay groups, we will also offer workshops that help parents navigate relevant topics including:

• Children’s Internet safety
• Child and adolescent sexuality
• Parenting in a digital age
• Fostering a healthy body image

Whenever appropriate, we will offer these workshops to non-parishioners as a service to the community at large, including an outreach to indigenous peoples, recent immigrants, and refugees.

Connect People in Need with Support Services 

For those with more specific needs within their family, we will offer services like the following.

• Programs for those experiencing separation or divorce
• Support and mentorship programs for dating, engaged and newly married couples
• Evangelization program (such as Alpha) to marriage preparation

These services will be promoted through individuals parishes and the growing network of local, Catholic counsellors and related services.
