Job Description

The Marriage and Family Coordinator reports to the Associate Director and coordinates Marriage Formation, Marriage Enrichment, and related events in collaboration with other team members to accomplish the Church’s mission of promoting life, marriage and family.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of the marriage formation course;
  • Supporting presenters and providing feedback to keep course content as relevant as possible;
  • Recruiting and managing a volunteer pool to present or to assist with hospitality when hosting in-person sessions;
  • Facilitation of private discussions with couples preparing for marriage;
  • Recruitment of professional presenters for the various programs.
  • Management of the Marriage Mentorship program;
  • Onboarding pastors on the implementation of the various marriage programs at their parish;
  • Training and support of lay parish leaders;
  • Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with relevant external organizations;
  • Organization and execution of Marriage Enrichment programs;
  • Organizing and leading training sessions and various events.

  • Understanding of and embracing a model of servant leadership in all endeavors;

Other Skills, Experience, Education and Training desired:

  • Ability to lead, coordinate, and supervise coworkers, presenters and volunteers;
  • Superb communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with pastors, parish leaders, other professionals, and leaders in the wider community;
  • Proficiency in listening and providing relevant support to couples of all ages and circumstances;
  • Ability to work independently without onsite supervision;
  • Confidence in public speaking and presenting;
  • Ability to organize and manage online webinars;
  • Ability to provide clear, concise and complete oral and written reports;
  • A high level of professionalism, tact, judgement, and discretion working in a confidential and sensitive environment; 
  • A master’s degree or equivalent in theology, ministry, or a related field would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of the Archdiocese of Vancouver’s ministry and mission would be an asset.

Working Environment

  • Salary Range: $53 - $63,000.00; 
  • Comprehensive benefits package offered including a pension plan;
  • This is a full time one (1) year contract;
  • It is understood that evening and weekend work will be required to fulfill the needs of this position;
