Message from Therapist
I provide a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can safely explore your emotions, beliefs, and the parts of yourself shaped by trauma, depression, and life’s challenges. Drawing on extensive life experience, including navigating grief, loss, and major transitions, I bring deep empathy and real-world understanding to support your healing journey.
Using evidence-based approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I work collaboratively with you to unburden wounded parts, heal trauma, and draw on your unique inner strengths and resilience. This process helps you gain greater clarity, emotional balance, and a renewed sense of self. For couples, I assist in uncovering and transforming interaction patterns that may cause disconnection, guiding you both toward healthier, more compassionate relationships built on emotional safety and mutual understanding.
When clients seek faith-based support, I respectfully integrate a Catholic Christian perspective, recognizing the power of spirituality as a source of meaning, hope, and healing. Whether you are searching for meaning, finding your true self, or navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, or life transitions, you are invited to a healing space where you are accepted fully and supported gently every step of the way.
Bio
Mary began her educational journey at Simon Fraser University, where she completed a Bachelor of Education. She spent the first 25 years working in the Vancouver Catholic School system and being a mom, taking several years off to raise her three children and returning to teaching part-time when her youngest was seven. During this time, she gained valuable experience supporting children and families within a faith-based educational setting.
After many years in the classroom, Mary felt a deep call to make a significant change. During a sabbatical, and with a sense of divine guidance, she was inspired to pursue her long-standing desire to help others in a deeper way. This led her to complete a Master of Counselling Psychology at Adler University.
Mary now draws on her education, specialized training, and wealth of life experience to support clients navigating life transitions, trauma, and relational challenges. She helps individuals move through feelings of stuckness, make meaningful life changes, and build stronger, more connected relationships.
