We encourage parishes to use FORMED as a tool for faith formation. There is a lot of easily-accessible content for parish leaders and all parishioners. There are resources below for parish pastors, ministry leaders, and leadership teams to use FORMED fruitfully in your parish. Over 50 of our parishes and schools have an account with FORMED.

Faith formation needs to be intentional and balanced. The below list will guide you to use the content on FORMED in the Areas of Accompaniment and Tasks of Catechesis to serve fruitfully.

Tasks of Catechesis

“In order to form believers for an integral Christian life, catechesis therefore pursues the following tasks: leading to knowledge of the faith; initiating into the celebration of the mystery; forming for life in Christ; teaching to pray; and introducing to community life.” (DC, 79)

[Helps] the believer to know the truths of the Christian faith, introduces him to the knowledge of Sacred Scripture and of the Church’s Living Tradition, fosters knowledge of the Creed and the creation of a coherent doctrinal vision that can be used as a reference for life.” (DFC, para. 80)

“…[Develops] the sense of belonging to the Church, teaching the sense of ecclesial communion, promoting acceptance of the Magisterium, communion with pastors, fraternal dialogue.” (DFC, para. 89)

Areas of Accompaniment

“The Accompaniment of a person on a journey of growth and conversion is necessarily marked by gradualness, in that the act of believing implies a progressive discovery of the mystery of God and openness and entrustment to Him that grows over time.” (DC, 179)
