Job Description

As Marketing Manager for the Archdiocese of Vancouver, you will use your strategic and creative skills to help people encounter Jesus Christ and become more engaged in the life of the Catholic community. Working closely with archdiocesan leaders, you will shape how campaigns, events, fundraising efforts, and major initiatives are presented to the people they are meant to reach, helping clarify goals, identify audiences, craft compelling messages, and coordinate execution across email, web, social media, advertising, print, and other channels. As a senior member of an award-winning Communications Office, you will serve as a key bridge between project leaders and a talented creative team, helping ensure each initiative is communicated with clarity, creativity, and purpose.

Primary Functions of the Position

Account Management

  • Lead promotional strategy for campaigns, events, fundraising initiatives, ministry priorities, and major projects.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and campaigns across multiple channels to increase community engagement and awareness.
  • Collaborate with various offices and ministries to promote events, initiatives, and fundraising efforts, tailoring messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Identify target audiences and devise digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.
  • Measure and report on analytics and campaign performance, providing actionable insights.

Creative Strategy

  • Develop clear and compelling creative briefs outlining objectives, audiences, key messages, and deliverables.
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable direction for the creative team.
  • Write persuasive copy for web, email, print, advertising, and social media.
  • Collaborate with designers, photographers, videographers, and other specialists to deliver campaign materials.
  • Assists with multimedia projects including videos, podcasts and social media.

Email Automation

  • Develop and execute advanced email marketing strategies including segmentation, campaign creation, automation, and personalization.
  • Target and segment audiences in our database by ensuring messages are relevant and engaging to each subgroup.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic marketing plans.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRMs, email marketing platforms, analytics tools, Meta Ads, and Google Ads.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple supervisors
  • High standards for quality and strong customer service mindset.
  • Working knowledge of the Archdiocese of Vancouver and the Catholic Church.
  • Experience with multimedia creation including web, email, video, and social media.

Conditions of Employment

  • Active participation in a Catholic parish.
  • Strong understanding of Church teaching relevant to archdiocesan ministries.
  • Ability to meet the Archdiocese of Vancouver’s Safe Environment policies.
  • Must be compliant with all applicable personnel policies.
