Pope Benedict XVI has called for a Year of Faith.

The year begins Oct. 11, 2012, the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and 20th anniversary of the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It ends on Nov. 24, 2013, the feast of Christ the King. This sacred time will provide Catholics locally and throughout the world a precious opportunity to celebrate, deepen and share the spiritual richness of their Catholic faith.
