Man Alive 2015 was a great success.
About 750 men packed St. Mary’s Parish August 11 for a riveting talk by Christopher West on authentic manhood, a time of Eucharistic Adoration, an interview with BC Lions’ Quarterback Travis Lulay, and a fun social replete with pop, hotdogs, 400 homemade cookies and a football throwing contest kicked off by Mr. Lulay himself. (The plan for gourmet coffee was changed due to the sweltering heat!)

a) August 26- Unfiltered Workshop for Men
Internet pornography is arguably the most deadly influence on families today, with its three A’s—Accessibility, Affordability, and Anonymity—rendering it especially insidious. The average age of exposure is getting younger—some now say 8 years old—and the earlier the exposure, the longer lasting and damaging the effects on young minds and souls.
As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Which is why, as a follow-up to Man Alive and as part of the archdiocesan Overcoming Pornography Initiative, we are holding a showing for men of “Unfiltered: Equipping Parents for an Ongoing Conversation about Internet Pornography” on Wednesday, August 26, 7:30 – 9:00pm at St. Mary’s Parish, Vancouver (basement).
Unfiltered is a simple-to-run, video-based workshop designed by Covenant Eyes that is a helpful tool for educating parents.
A short video presentation speaks of the brain science connected with porn, a simple overview of the Theology of the Body, and practical measures families can take to protect and educate children.
Our goal is that attendees will then take it back to their parishes and communities and use it to educate others.
b) October 23-25 – Archdiocesan Men’s Retreat
