Marketing Manager

As the Marketing Manager at the Archdiocese of Vancouver, you are a crucial member of the Communications Office team. Your role is to envision and execute marketing campaigns that advance the strategic missional goals of the local Catholic Church. Acting as a bridge between the Communications Office and other offices / ministries using modern communication channels such as, advertising, email, social media, and other methods of engaging with our Catholic community. You will be supported by an award-winning team of communicators, journalists, designers, and social media experts.

Primary Functions of the Position

  Account Management:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and campaigns across multiple channels to increase community engagement and awareness.
  • Collaborate with various offices and ministries to promote events, initiatives, and fundraising efforts, tailoring messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Identify target audiences and devise digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.
  • Measure and report on analytics and campaign performance, providing actionable insights.

Content Creation:

  • Craft detailed and compelling creative briefs that effectively communicate project objectives, audience, and desired outcomes to guide the creative team in developing impactful and aligned materials.
  • Write persuasive copy for websites, print materials and social media posts.
  • Work directly with graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and advertisers in content development and distribution.
  • Assist with the development of original multimedia content such as videos, podcasts, and graphics.

Email Marketing:

  • Develop and execute advanced email marketing strategies including segmentation, campaign creation, automation, and personalization to engage our community effectively.
  • Conduct testing on various email campaigns to optimize performance and increase engagement.
  • Target and segment audiences in our database by ensuring messages are relevant and engaging to each subgroup.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing or communications with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
  • Experience with email campaigns and marketing automation tools.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and online advertising.
  • Passionate about leveraging technology to advance the mission and creatively solve communication and marketing challenges.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively report to and collaborate with multiple supervisors, stakeholders, and departments.
  • Exceptional customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
  • Good working knowledge of issues and conditions affecting the Archdiocese of Vancouver and the Catholic Church.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications.
  • Experience within a non-profit organization.
  • Familiarity of Salesforce, Pardot, Google Ads, Meta Ads.

Conditions of Employment 

  • An active member of a Catholic parish.
  • Strong knowledge of Church teachings relevant to Archdiocesan offices.  
  • Successful Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search required prior to start of employment.

Working Environment

  • This is a full-time position and may require occasional evening and weekend work.
