First Nations Office Mandate
The First Nations Office is under the direction of the Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Council Archdiocese of Vancouver. The Council and the Office help in the implementation of the Archbishop’s directives regarding his First Nations pastoral vision and mandate. This vision involves alleviating struggles faced by our First Nation communities and finding appropriate solutions, while developing and promoting processes that promote healing. The Office also looks to maximize opportunities for collaboration with First Nation organizations and communities by developing programs, resources and projects that further First Nations ministry. Rennie Nahanee is the First Nations Coordinator for the Archdiocese of Vancouver.
Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Council
The Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Council was founded to promote a richer dialogue and sharing amongst First Nations people at the parish, deanery, and Archdiocesan level. Aimed at promoting reconciliation between First Nations people and God, the Council is chaired by Archbishop J. Michael Miller, CSB.
