Co-sponsored by St. Mark’s College at UBC, this two-day dementia master class aims to develop a core knowledge base about dementia and dementia care (vocabulary, concepts, models, examples). The course uncovers key aspects of the developing knowledge for professional dementia care to provide a conceptual framework for understanding dementing illnesses, behavioural changes and the range of options for care, communication, and environmental intervention. This master class has been attended by a wide audience, ranging from nurses and personal care workers, to social workers and pastors. Presented by Dr. Gemma M Jones, current and founding Chair of the Alzheimer Café UK.
