History

Catholic Charities Men’s Hostel began our mission on the 3rd floor of our Vancouver Archdiocese offices, via the orders of Archbishop Johnson, forming a committee, in October of 1958. The Men's Hostel was opened 13 months later in November of 1959. Since opening, the Emergency Shelter has grown in size to 102 beds, our staff is now over 15 and growing, and still increasing the range and depth of social services offered to our guests.
